L'Oreal Paris Concentrated Lash Boosting Serum Review

Personal review of the Lash Boosting serum from L'Oreal Paris that claims to help you 'get visibly fuller, thicker natural lashes with less lash fall-out when removing makeup'.

I'm sure many of you recognise this tube from L'Oreal Paris which is their Concentrated Lash Boosting Serum, one of the poducts from their Lash Boosting Technology range.

So this serum is supposed to give you 'visibly fuller, thicker natural lashes with less lash fall-out when removing makeup' and the formula apparently contains Centella Asiatica Extract and Arginine to 'reinforce, condition, and protect each lash. You're supposed to 'apply daily under your mascara and at night to bare lashes to trasform your natural lashes, and see more lashes in just 4 weeks'.

So those are the claims the company makes and this is my personal review of how this product worked for me.

First of all, what might be interesting to Pacific Islanders out there, the ingredient in what L'Oreal Paris calls its "breakthrough formula", the Centella Asiatica is actually a common herb found in the region. In Fiji, it's called Totodro, Tono in Samoa and Tonga, Kapukapu in the Cooks, Tohetupou in Tahiti and so on. For those interested, you can find further reading on this website.

So how did this product work for me? First of all, yes, it does improve your lashes. At least it did for me. But before you run out and purchase this product thinking it's a miracle product, in my opion, it's not.

This product does work but not to the extent that the marketing may lead you to believe. Yes, I found my lashes were a bit longer. Yes, they were a little thicker. However, they weren't extremely long nor were they extremely thick. This serum will not do for you what other expensive serums may do such as Latisse etc. At least, it didn't for me. But yes, there was an improvement to my lashes.

So how I think this product works is that it's basically an eyelash conditioner. I definitely agree with the company's claims that the serum will 'reinforce, condition and protect each lash'.
So what the product does is it helps your lashes be the best they can be - naturally. I think it's important to note that. This product won't give you extremely long, thick lashes if you have naturally short, thin lashes. What it will do is make the best of what you have. That's how the product worked for me.

I have average lashes, not very thick at all and an uneven lash line so I need the help of mascaras to define and make the best of my eyelashes.I feel the serum conditions and feeds them so they grow to the length and thickness they were naturally meant to grow.
So for me, this product works in the sense that it conditions, reinforces and protects my lashes so they grow to be the best they can be, despite all they're being put through such as being coated with mascaras, being subjected to eyelash curlers etc. I'm never going to get the equivalent of false lashes with this product but I get the best of what I have.

I liken it to a hair conditioner. We use hair conditioners because they contain ingredients that condition the hair and make it more manageable and more healthy so it can grow better. I feel this serum has exactly the same concept but for eyelashes.
A hair conditioner won't change your dead straight hair to curly just as this serum won't make that extreme transformation with your lashes.

Another claim I found to be true was it did reduce fall-out. I found I had far less fall-out whenever I removed mascara after I started using this product.

I apply this serum to my lashes every night, when I can remember to. I don't usually apply it under mascara because I find it interferes with some mascara formulas so the mascaras don't work too well.

So yes, this product works for me and I would repurchase once I'm done with this tube, which by the way, lasts quite a long time.
